HALLOWEEN
PARTY ENTERTAINMENT
Dancing
Dancing at any type of party or event is a wonderful way of
socializing, and a Halloween party is no different. First off, its
important that you make
certain that you have a dedicated area large enough for those that
will be dancing, and that you remove any possible obstructions that might be a
hazard. This is important for both practical and safety reasons.
Use can use the floor in your house if it is suitable. If not, portable dance floors are usually available for rent from your local
party rental shop. Special effects lighting can also be bought or
rented and will add a touch of professionalism. Avoid using a fog
machine near the dance floor as the fluid used to make the simulated
fog will produce a sticky film and make the dance floor slick and
slippery.
Halloween Party
Music
We all know how much
music can enhance the atmosphere in a movie. Well, the same works for Halloween. Selecting
the right Halloween music for your Halloween festivities. We set a
portable CD player just outside the front door playing gothic
sounding music to initially greet our guests. Inside, we have our
stereo system playing our Halloween party music. This definitely adds to the mood of
the spookiest night of the year. See if you can get someone to
volunteer as a Disc Jockey to check and change CD's as needed.
Below are a few of our
favorite picks that we have used at our
Halloween parties.
Halloween

Halloween Movies
Even if your not having a Halloween Movie Party, having something
scary playing on the television in the background is a great way to
add a little extra atmosphere to the party. There are many movies
that work very well for this, plus some specialty DVD's made just for
this purpose.
We often play the original John
Carpenter "Halloween" movie in the background with the sound turned
way down. This movie is such a classic and so recognizable that
everyone seems entranced by it. For the kids "It's The Great
Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" on DVD is a wonderful choice and for adults
it brings back childhood memories.
Television
Effects
In the past couple of years we've began to see special effects DVD's
being produced that allow you to use your television as sort of a
virtual Halloween decoration.
The "Virtual Tombstones" from Twisted
Ambience is one such mood enhancing video available on DVD and is
great for background entertainment. This DVD switches between more
than fifty different Tombstones set within a Twisted Cemetery. Each
one displays a humorous epitaph. Many of the undead occupants appear
and are not happy to see you. Approximately one hour long. Twisted
Ambience now offers eight different spooky DVD's for haunting your
television.
Halloween Party
Games
Party games will keep a Halloween party fun for your guests and
flowing smoothly. With a little adapting, it's just as much for adults to
play a game designed for children as it is for the kids.
We always have
classic Halloween games like "Bobbing for Apples"
and the telling of ghost stories at our Halloween parties.
Be sure to have prizes for the winners.
Think about having a best Halloween costume contest. Ouija boards are another popular entertainment for Halloween
parties, but are not recommended for a children's party. Warning, be
careful or you might let something into your house you didn't
expect! Visit the
