HALLOWEEN
PARTY THEME - MEN IN BLACK
At our "Men in Black" party, we had everyone dress as described
below, but as the hosts, my wife and I dressed as Fox Mulder and
Dana Scully from the X-Files. This can be a fun party to have,
everyone dressed in black suites, sunglasses and very
serious looking, at least for a while. The decor should be
alien based, you can have a great time decorating with
U.F.O.s, aliens, maybe make a fake alien autopsy video to
show to your guests. Keep the food simple, the tableware
simple and show a few films during the party, in the
background, such as Earth vs. The Flying Saucers, The
X-Files movie or just pop in a DVD of episodes from seasons
of The X-Files.
Costumes
- All guests are to wear black business suits,
preferably of the exact same style. All of the men wear
black business suits and white shirts, matching black neck-ties and dark sun glasses.
The women wear black business dress or skirt suits with
a white dress shirt and
dark sun glasses. As a final touch, print up some fake
identification badges for every guest.
Decorations
- Model or toy flying saucers suspended from the
ceiling, alien bodies, aliens in jars, printed maps of
Area 51 blown up and framed on the walls are good choices
decor. Black and silver helium filled
balloons can be floating around as well.
Refreshments
- a table centerpiece with a U.F.O. and aliens will look
nice. A U.F.O. shaped cake and cookies are good treats,
served on sliver paper goods, as shown above. a glowing
green punch will add to the alien theme, use the
instructions from
Halloween Online for
the glowing punch bowl. Halloween
punch. The food and beverage can be served on all silver
colored tableware.
Music
- Sci-fi movie and television soundtracks playing in the
background as ambient music is perfect. The soundtracks
to the X-Files and Men in Black work well. You can also
buy compilation CDs from old classic Sci-Fi films and
television shows.
Entertainment
- Flying saucer, aliens, the X-Files movie or television
series, type movies playing on the television. Check out
Fearful Films
for ideas. At least
one Halloween party game is a must. For lots of
Halloween party game suggestions visit the
Halloween Games 101
website. If you have the space, an area set aside for
people to dance should be included.
