Costumes
- Costumes should be optional for this type of party.
What you want to go for here is comfort. You'll all be
spending anywhere from four to eight hours of movie
watching after all. if you do go with costumes, make
them movie theme oriented, preferably to what films
you'll be watching. It might be best to go with movie
t-shirts for everyone that comes.
Decorations
- You should do a film theme of
some kind. Find some inexpensive horror movie posters to
tack up around the room. if you have any Halloween masks
related to horror films, you might want to place them on
wig stands and set them around. You can also find life
size stand-ups from horror films, such as Elvira,
Dracula, the Mummy. You'll also want to have lots of
large comfortable pillows to throw on the couch and
floor for people to stretch out on.
Refreshments
- Carmel corn, pop-corn, chips and dip are all good
choices. make sure to have plenty of beverages on hand
as well. Set up a table with snacks and a punch bowl.
Use a
lighted punch bowl so your guests can see in the
dark if they want drinks during the movies.
Music
- You'll want to schedule a couple intermissions during
the night for bathroom breaks and food. Set the
mood with appropriate music during intermissions.
You'll want
to go with horror movie themed music. See our
Entertainment section
for movie music suggestions.
Entertainment
- Horror movie trivia games are very appropriate for the
kind of party. Print out ballots for choosing things
like "Best Death Scene", "Most Creative way To Die",
"Scariest Haunted House" and such. then have people vote
at the end of the night and see what films they liked
best. For lots of Halloween party game
suggestions visit the
