HALLOWEEN
PARTY THEME - PIRATES PARTY
With the popularity of the three "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies,
pirate and wench costumes are back in style again this year. Have
all your guests come dressed as pirates. You can go with pirate
tableware like the set pictured to the right or do your own theme. A
few skeletons sitting around with Spanish moss hanging on them,
treasure chests full of gold coins and jewels, rope netting, shells,
glass float balls, fake fish, anything sea related will make good
decorations. Make sure and have plenty of grog and food on hand for
thirsty pirates! Have a costume contest and give prizes for the best
costumes, best couples costume, best home made costume, etc. Arhhh,
a thrilling night in Tortuga will be had by all!
Costumes
- Needless to say, everyone dresses as a pirate, wench, etc.
There is a big variety of pirate costumes available from
the Pirates movies and general pirate costumes for both
men and women. For more information and ideas
visit
Halloween Online's costume section.
Decorations
- A wooden chest filled with fake treasure is the
perfect choice for the table centerpiece.
A large Skull & Crossbones flag hung behind or over the
banquet table looks great. Use black and red helium filled balloons.
Refreshments
- Finger foods work best. A cake shaped like a pirate ship or
treasure chest will be a hit. A batch of glowing Halloween punch
can be made using the instructions at
Halloween Online. Grill
some pirate food like marinated chicken breast strips on
bamboo skewers and call it "rat on a stick". The food and
beverage can be served on all black or brown colored tableware.
Music
- Movie soundtracks playing in the
background as ambient music is the music of choice. The
soundtracks to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies work well.
The music is "piratey" sounding and is up enough to keep
the party going at the same time.
Entertainment
- At least one Halloween party game is a must. For lots
of Halloween party game suggestions visit the
Halloween Games 101
website. You could use a small television and play all
three Prates of the Caribbean movies during the night as
background noise. If you have the space, an area set aside for
people to dance should be included. |
