PARTY THEME - VAMPIRES BALL
 Considered both sinister and sexy, the popularity of vampires is
undeniable.
The idea here is that everyone comes dressed as a vampire. It can be
a traditional vampire party or a "come as your favorite vampire"
party. In the invitations, tell your guests what the vampire theme
is, classic or to dress as their favorite vampire from film. The
variety of costumes should be amazing!
You'll want your party area
very dark, gloomy and Goth looking with lots of tombstones, spider
webs, candelabras with artificial light. The usual New Orleans style
vampire fare. Watch a movie like "Interview With The Vampire" to get
some great decorating ideas!
 Costumes
- Decide whether you want the costumes
to be those worn by old world vampires, such as formal wear and capes
for the guys and gothic gowns for the ladies, or
modern vampires in dark clothing such as black trench coats. If you
go with favorite films, you'll most likely have a mix of
both. We
place a large glass bowl filled with inexpensive fake
plastic fangs at the door for our guests. Help out
those that you invite with some suggestions on vampire
costumes and makeup.

Decorations
- Use lots of dark gothic style decorations. A tombstone
centerpiece in the center of the table is perfect for this type of event.
Hang plenty of rubber bats from the ceiling using
fishing line and tacks. A
full size coffin resting against a wall is a great
classy touch. Black
and red tableware work well for serving your Halloween
treats. Replacing the regular light bulbs in your lamps
with red colored bulbs will help to enhance the "vampish"
atmosphere. Use red and black helium filled
balloons.
Refreshments
- A coffin shaped cake with black icing (the
recipe
is available at Halloween Online) and tombstone
shaped cookies look great on your serving table and
really set the blood-sucker mood. Red Halloween punch made using
cherry flavored Kool-aid and served in a gothic style

Music
- Dark gothic music is just what this type of party
needs and both "Midnight Syndicate" and "Nox Arcana"
have just the right stuff. We position our stereo so
that we can have two speakers facing out the front
window and another two speakers inside to fill the house

Entertainment
- Vampire trivia games work well for this type of party.
You could vary the "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" game and
play "Stake the Vampire" instead, using a vampire poster
and stakes cut out of poster board. Even vampires have

For dance music we use
techno like that used in the vampire nightclub
scenes in the "Blade" movies. "Confusion" by New Order
and "Blood is Pumping" by Voodoo & Serano are the two
best you will ever find. Hang red streamers over the
dance floor to simulate blood spraying down from the
ceiling. |
